In 1931 Lorca opened Fuente Vaqueros library with a talk on books; “If I were hungry and helpless in the street I would not ask for bread, but for half a bread and a book” said Lorca.
Carmelo Gómez, one of the most respected and well- known actors of the Spanish scene, takes two of the talks that Lorca gave in his hometown to reflect on the necessity of books, reading and the importance of theatre. The talk is sprinkled with Lorca’s poems, the actor’s reflections on Lorca, and Carmelo’s perspective on the poet’s work as an actor.
