From 1859 to 1863, just before the proclaimed Unification of Italy, two brothers, a farmer and a shepherd from Puglia, converted into bandits due to injustice, find themselves experiencing a sudden and painful change in their existence.

The same and sudden change is faced by the country in those same years. In a series of comic-dramatic events, they will narrate about that Bourbonic Italy which suddenly found itself under Savoy rules, without fully understanding how and why.

 

 

تدور أحداث الحكاية في إقليم (بولينا)، بين عامي 1859 – 1863، قبيل إعلان توحيد (إيطاليا). يضطر شقيقان، وبسبب الظروف الظالمة، هما فلاح وراعي، للتحول إلى قاطعي طريق، وهكذا يختبران تحولات مؤلمة في مسار حياتهما. خلال تلك الفترة، كانت (إيطاليا) أيضاً تعيش تحولات مماثلة.

المسرحية سلسلة من الأحداث الدرامية والكوميدية، تروي لنا عن قصة (إيطاليا) التي كانت تحت حكم أسرة (باربوني) ثم انتقلت إلى حكم أسرة (سافويا)، من دون أن تُدرك كيف ولماذا حدث هذا التحوّل، الذي لم يكن باهظ التكلفة لكن تبعاته والانقسامات التي خلّفها، لا تزال جلية حتى اليوم في ما يُعرف بـ»قضية الجنوب».

«لا تدعوهم قطاع طرق»، تروي بسخرية، لكن دون الإنقاص من أحد، حالة «التحوّل» السياسي والأيديولوجي والاجتماعي الذي طالما ميز الشعب الإيطالي

 

 

Entre 1859 et 1863 (tout juste avant la proclamation de l’Unité Italienne), deux frères,l’un fermier et l’autre berger dans la région des Pouilles, se reconvertissent en brigands a cause de l’injustice, et subissent un chamboulement douloureux dans leurs existences.
Le pays subit le même changement soudain au cours de ces mêmes années.
Dans un enchaînement d‘événements à la fois comiques et dramatiques, ils racontent l’histoire de cette Italie Bourbonne qui se retrouva soudain sous le joug de la Savoie, sans comprendre parfaitement comment et pourquoi.
